David Leslie Collison was born July 1, 1941, in Anoka MN to Melvin and Rhoda (Morrow) Collison. He grew up in Anoka and graduated from Anoka High School and MN School of Business. On July 21, 1973, he married the love of his life, Sharon Elaine Farr, at Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. The couple would later make their home in the house that David’s father built on the Rum River in Andover. David worked as an accountant for Tasks Unlimited in Minneapolis, starting in 1977 and retired after 26 years. Once they retired, David and Sharon spent winters in Harlingen TX and most weekends and summers at their cabin on Prairie Lake, along with enjoying time at her family cabin on Farm Island Lake.
David loved fishing, boating, hunting, traveling, bowling, videography, taking pictures, and spending time with family and friends. He was a recreational pilot, and a dog and nature lover. Along with his wife Sharon, they made a point to spend time with family, neighbors, and friends offering up their home or beach as a gathering place.
David was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Sharon; brother, Dale; and sister-in-law, Linda Collison. David will be greatly missed by his brother, Jerry Collison of Payson AZ, sister in law and brother in law, Patty and Jerry Anderson; nieces and nephews – Amy (Mark) Maxfield, Mary (Mike) Schoeneck, Mark (Silvia) Collison, Dan Collison, Mark (Maggie) Anderson, Deb (Mark) Fredrickson, Carrie (Mark) Knutson, Matt (Mackenzie) Anderson and many great nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends and caregivers.
