Howard Doble, age 63, of Cambridge, formerly of Isanti, died Friday, March 23, 2007 at his home.
Howard Percy Doble was born April 18, 1943 in Springvale Township to Arthur and Ellen Doble. He was raised in Springvale and graduated from Cambridge High School, Class of 1963. On November 30, 1963 he married Teresa Voss and they have made their home in the Isanti-Cambridge community. Howard was employed by the Isanti County Highway Department for many years. He was an active member of Elim Baptist Church in Isanti where he had worked with the Junior High Youth, Awana leader, sang in the choir and served on the Steward Board. Howard enjoyed and was well known for his singing. He also enjoyed woodworking, playing cribbage, gardening and just being in the outdoors. He especially enjoyed being with the grandchildren and all of the family activities. Howard loved life and God’s people and what a blessing he was to so many.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson, Hunter and one sister, Sandi.
Howard is survived by his loving wife, Teresa of Cambridge; four children, Priscilla (Kevin) McDonnell of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Troy (Jody) Doble of Cambridge, Krisandra (John) French of Ramsey, and Stacie (Randy) Straus of Coon Rapids; 15 grandchildren; five brothers; Jerry and Bonnie, Les and Arlene, Doug and Rita, Darwin and Jackie, Stan and Karen; seven sisters, Maggie (Clarence) LaBeau, Mona LaBeau, Lorraine Olson, Rosemary (Lowell) Durham, Edie (Hank) Eggert, Nancy (Hugh) Peabody, Karyn (Dick) Olson; and by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Elim Baptist Church in Isanti with Rev. Frank Evans officiating. Nancy Peabody served as pianist. The pallbearers were Troy Doble, Dan Fosse, John French, Kevin McDonnell, Steve Otte, Randy Straus and Tom Voss. Interment was in Strike Cemetery in rural Isanti. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel.
