Funeral Services for Minerva L. Svendsen, age 94, of Cambridge, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 9, 2007 at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral on Friday at the church.
Minerva Svendsen, age 94, of Cambridge died March 2, 2007 at Grandview Christian Home.
Minerva Lucille Svendsen was born October 19, 1912 in Isanti Township to Emil and Ellen Norberg. She was raised in Isanti Township and attended the Skalin School. On October 28, 1934 she married Svend Svendsen in Minneapolis. When Svend served in the Army during World War II she worked in Minneapolis. Svend and Min lived in south Minneapolis until moving to Isanti in the mid 1970’s. In 2000 they moved to Cambridge into Mill Ridge Apartments. Minerva was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, bowling and playing cards.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Svend in 2002; 2 brothers, Charles and Myron Norberg; 2 sisters, Myrna Lundgren and Elvera Soderberg; and by 2 infant siblings. She is survived by 1 sister, Lorna Sagvold of Bloomington; nieces, nephews and by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 9, 2007 at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti with Rev. Valerie Brown-Greenly officiating. Musicians will be Gwen Anderson and Shirley Olson. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service Friday at the church. The pallbearers will be Christian and Jessi Anderson, Darren and Jason Carlson, David Lundgren, and Jennie and Jonathon Norberg. Interment will be in Isanti Union Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel.
