Harriette Elizabeth Herman, age 81, of Mora, passed away at her home April 30, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, May 4th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel with Rev. Mark Mueller officiating. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Weber.
Harriette Elizabeth Herman was born May 28, 1925 at New Albin, Iowa to George and Lydia Marschall. Harriette was Baptized June 28, 1925 at St. Peters Evangelical and Reformed Church in New Albin. She was raised and attended school in La Crescent, Minnesota. On May 18, 1957 Harriette was united in marriage to Vernon Herman and they made their home in Coon Rapids. In 1969 they moved to Isanti and they joined St. John Lutheran Church in Weber. Harriette was very involved in church activities, including teaching Sunday School, helping in Ladies Aide and participating in Bible studies. In 1991 they moved to rural Mora and joined St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Braham. Harriette and Vernon also wintered in Texas. Harriette enjoyed crafts, crocheting, making quilts, working on word-find puzzles, traveling with her family, being outdoors and especially tending to her flower garden.
Harriette will be lovingly remembered by her son, Myron Herman and his wife Christine of Brooklyn Park; by her granddaughter, Melissa Herman of Brooklyn Park; and by other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Vernon, on August 31, 2006.
