JoEllen Rae Davis, age 62, of Cambridge passed away May 5, 2007 at Grandview Christian Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 11th at First Baptist Church in Cambridge with Rev. Bob Roby officiating. A visitation will be held from 5 – 8 PM on Thursday at Strike Funeral Home – ISANTI Chapel and also 1 hour prior to the funeral Friday at the church. Interment will be in Strike Cemetery.
JoEllen Rae Davis was born November 16, 1944 in St. Paul to Raymond and Mary Davis. She was raised in St. Paul’s west side and graduated from Humboldt High School. JoEllen then attended the University of Minnesota. She was employed by Regions Hospital in St. Paul for twenty years, until 2001. In 1997 she moved to Stanchfield and then later to Isanti. Two years ago she moved to an apartment in Cambridge. JoEllen was a member of New Hope Community Church in Cambridge and served as coordinator for New Pathways representing New Hope. She will be fondly remembered by the YadaYada Prayer Group Sisters. JoEllen was a dedicated Blue Jacket Hockey Grandma and she was an avid hockey fan at all levels of hockey play. Her puppy, Bugaboo, was her constant companion.
JoEllen is survived by her daughter, Rachel (Gary) Johnson of Isanti; 2 sons, David (Tina) Davis of South Carolina, James Davis and Celest of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; 8 grandchildren, Stephanie and Andrea Davis of South Carolina, Justin, Valerie, Jessica and Kenny Sands of Isanti, Alexandra and Elizabeth Johnson of Isanti; 2 great-grandchildren, Piper and Alex; 2 brothers, Raymond (Connie) Davis of Stillwater, Dennis (Caryl) Davis of Mendota Heights; 2 sisters, Veronica (Tom) Harrington of Harris, Maryjean Sheppard of Maplewood; by special friends, Paul and Marylee of Isanti; by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
