Dorothy VanSloun, age 85, of North Branch passed away on September 28, 2007 at Villages of North Branch. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at our Cambridge Chapel with Father James David Hahn officiating. Visitation will begin 1 hour before the service. Interment will be in St. Victoria Catholic Cemetery in Victoria.
Dorothy Rose VanSloun was born April 29, 1922 at Victoria, Minnesota to Leonard and Anna VanSloun. She was raised and lived her early years in Victoria. When she was 18 she moved to the Twin Cities where she worked until retiring in 1984. Dorothy then moved to Horn Towers, a retirement complex in Minneapolis. About two and-a-half years ago she became a resident of Green Acres Country Care Center in North Branch and just recently moved to the new Villages of North Branch. Dorothy enjoyed doing handwork, embroidering and doing crafts.
Dorothy passed away on September 28, 2007 at Villages of North Branch at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 29 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Rudy, Frank, Roman, Raymond and Edmund; 1 sister, Cecilia Bartholomaus; and 1 niece, Colleen Rysdam. Dorothy is survived by 7 nieces and nephews, Becky (Craig) Bedbury of Stanchfield, Sherri Nyman of Stanchfield, Elaine (Clay) Carlson of Brook Park, David (Susan) Bartholomaus of Milaca, Steven Bartholomaus of Pine City, Jason Bartholomaus of Brook Park, Darin Bartholomaus of Grasston; 11 great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Lorraine VanSloan of Chaska; and by many other relatives and friends.
