Harvey Morgan, age 92, passed away October 1, 2007 at Cambridge Health Care Center. A funeral service will be at 12:00Noon on Saturday, October 6th atStrike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel with a visitation starting two hours before the service.Rev. James McChesney will officiate. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Minneapolis.
Harvey Elden Morgan was born December 9, 1914 in Mansfield Township, Freeborn County, Minnesota to John and Goldie (Johnson) Morgan. He was raised and attended country school in the Mansfield Township area. On May 23, 1934 Harvey married Roberta Blakesley and to this union four children were born, Deloris, Robert, Dennis and Judy. They moved to Cambridge in 1949. On December 12, 1953 Harvey married Bertha Koosman and they lived in St. Cloud and then in Anoka. Both Bertha and Harvey were cared for at Cambridge Health Care Center when their health required more extensive care. Bertha passed away July 12, 2006.
During his working years he was employed in packing plants on the cattle line. He started at Wilson & Co in Albert Lea and then worked for a plant in South St. Paul, Landys in St. Cloud, and Osborne plant in Spring Lake Park. When he retired he ran a backhoe on construction sites. He built a cabin near Art and De’s at Palisade and spent many years enjoying retirement. Harvey enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He also liked making ice fishing stools and mounting deer antlers. Harvey will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
Harvey Morgan passed away October 1, 2007 at Cambridge Health Care Center at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 22 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Goldie, wife, Bertha, step-daughter, Gloria VanDanacker, brothers and sisters, Verle, Russell, Marvyl, Mavis and Darlene, and one son-in-law, Art Goetzke.
Harvey is survived by four children, Deloris Goetzke of Palisade, Robert (Marjorie) Morgan of North Branch, Dennis (Joan) Morgan of Wells, and Judy (David) Saari of Scottsdale, Arizona; step-son, Eldor Koosman of Garrison, step-son-in-law, Al VanDanacker of Cambridge; two brothers, Bud (Carol) Morgan of Conger, Donnie (Gladys) Morgan of Rose Creek; sister, Lois (Joe) Bice of Conger; by 18 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
