Margariette “Peggy” Skeate, age 71, of Isanti passed away December 2, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 5th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Isanti with Father Jose as Celebrant. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Margariette Skeate was born November 3, 1936 in Minneapolis to Arthur and Lucy Phyle. She was raised in Minneapolis and graduated from Washburn High School. On May 12, 1955 she married Thomas Skeate and they made their first home in Minneapolis. They then moved to Columbia Heights and then later to Mounds View. Ten years ago they moved to Isanti where they have since made their home. Peggy was a bookkeeper and worked for the Salvation Army. She set up their bookkeeping with the computer system, along with her other duties she also organized the bell ringers in the Holiday Season. Peggy retired from the Salvation Army in 1997. Besides her family and the family activities her interests included her flowers, gardening, baking and cooking, reading, doing crossword puzzles, traveling, fishing and camping.
Peggy was preceded in death by an infant son, Tommy. She is survived by her husband, Thomas of Isanti; 4 sons, Jeff (Kate) of Blaine, Terry (Flo) of Lexington, Ken (Lisa) of Coon Rapids, Tim (Kris) of Mounds View; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Carol Graham of Coon Rapids; nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, John (Esther) Skeate of Emily; special friends, Midge (Charlie) Skeate of Coon Rapids, Dorothy (Jim) Overland of Indiana; and other relatives and friends.
