Kenneth Effertz, age 72, of Oak Grove passed away July 23, 2008 at Cambridge Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 26th at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel with Pastor Howard Skulstad officiating. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be Johnson Memorial Cemetery in West Rock, Pine County.
Kenneth Francis Effertz was born April 1, 1936 in Racine, Wisconsin to Peter and Violet Effertz. His family moved several times including; Sherburn, Glencoe, Granite Falls and then to Rush City. Kenneth graduated from Rush City High School. On November 24, 1956 he married Adelaide Berg. They made their home in Minneapolis and then Coon Rapids until moving to Cedar in 1968. Kenneth was employed by Honeywell for 40 years. He enjoyed horses, he raised and showed Arabians and was a member of the Minnesota Arabian Horse Breeders Association.
Kenneth passed away on July 23, 2008 at the Cambridge Medical Center at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 22 days. He is survived by 3 sons, Jerome (Vallerie) of Pine City, Bruce (Brenda) of Isanti, Dick (LeAnn) of Braham; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; former wife, Adelaide Effertz of Cedar; 1 brother, Bernard (Niobe) Effertz of Aitkin; 2 sisters, Bernice (Rob) Orn-Dykstra of Fruitland Park, Florida, Vivian (Ted) Burzynski of Mankato; and by many other relatives and friends.
