Cora P. Jorde, age 84, of Cambridge died December 6, 2008 at GracePointe Crossing West-Grandview Christian Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Family of Christ Lutheran Church in Ham Lake with Rev. Dennis Perryman officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 9th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel and also 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Cora Phyllis Jorde was born November 23, 1924 in Northwood, North Dakota to Arne and Caroline Trageton. She was baptized and confirmed at the Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church and she graduated from Northwood High School. On October 22, 1945 Cora married Ardell Jorde. They made their home in the Grand Forks, North Dakota area until 1957 when Cora moved to Minneapolis. In 1963 they moved to Brooklyn Park and then in 1977 they moved back to Grand Forks. In 1996 she moved back to Minneapolis and then for the past 5 years she had been a resident of Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge. Cora was a member of Family of Christ Lutheran Church in Ham Lake. Over the years she had always been an active member of her church. Her main interest was her family and all of the family activities.
Cora passed away December 6, 2008 at Grace Pointe Crossing West-Grandview Christian Home at the age of 84 years and 13 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ardell; daughter, Carol Keske; 2 sisters, Lila and Adeline; 2 brothers, Palmer and Howard.
Cora is survived by her son, David (Jackie) Jorde of Andover; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Elvin (Joyce) Trageton of Mayville, North Dakota, Oliver (Susan) Trageton of Breckenridge, Minnesota, Arne (Diane) Trageton of Northwood, North Dakota; 2 sisters, Ruth Lyste of Mayville, North Dakota, Mildred (Glenn) Rudrud of Grand Forks, North Dakota; and by many other relatives and friends.
