Lawrence Edward Peterson, age 87, of Isanti passed away December 20, 2008 at GracePointe Crossing East.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 23rd at Long Lake Lutheran Church in Isanti with Pastor Howard Skulstad officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Monday, December 22nd AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be in Long Lake Community Cemetery.
Lawrence Edward Peterson was born February 24, 1921 in Bradford Township, rural Isanti, to Dora and John Edward Peterson. He was raised in Bradford and graduated from Cambridge High School. Lawrence married Florence Olson on November 19, 1949 in South St. Paul. They made their home on a farm in Bradford Township where he has since made his home. Lawrence farmed and also drove school bus and was a custodian for the Cambridge/Isanti Schools for 29 years, retiring in 1984. Lawrence was a lifetime member of Long Lake Lutheran Church. He and Florence enjoyed traveling and wintered near San Antonio, Texas for several years and was a member of Voyagers Club Camping Group, part of the Good Sam Camping Club.
Lawrence passed away on December 20, 2008 at Grace Pointe Crossing East, Cambridge Health Care Center, at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 26 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly; wife, Florence in 2006; and by 4 sisters, Florence, Ruby, Marion and an infant sister. Lawrence is survived by 1 son, Gary Peterson of Fridley; 1 daughter, MaryEllen (James) Sax of Cedar Park, Texas; by 5 grandchildren, Patrick, Daniel, Christian, Elizabeth and Anthony; and by many other relatives and friends.
