Marlys Lindquist, age 62, of Cambridgepassed away peacefullyat home on January 13, 2009 with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 17th at Wyanett Evangelical Free Church in Princeton with Rev. Bruce Talso officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 16th at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel and also 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
Marlys Faye Lindquist was born December 25, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Floyd and Dorothy (Veal) Martin. She grew up on the family farm in Bradford and graduated from Cambridge High School. Marlys was married to Dennis Lindquist from April 29, 1967 to 1977 and had four children. She also spent several years living with her special friend Dave until the mid 1980’s.
Marlys had various jobs throughout her life, the longest one being a machine operator at CMP in Cambridge. Marlys enjoyed garage sales, shopping, gardening, playing Yahtzee and being with loved ones.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Martin; children, Cindy Olson of Brook Park and her friend, Craig Stone; Tammy Lindquist of Cambridge, Lori Lindquist and her friend Gary Klingner of Princeton; and Daniel Lindquist of Cambridge; eight grandchildren, Kalley, Brady, Matthew, Sierra, Renee, Caitlan, Devon and Brandi; brother, Gerald Martin of Cambridge; two sisters, Bonnie LeMon and her husband Zan of Bradford, and Elvira Martin of Bradford; six nieces and nephews, many cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Martin, grandmother, Nina, and grandson, Dylan.
