Helma Jevnisek, age 91, of Cambridge died May 13, 2009 at GracePointe Crossing West. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 22nd at South Isanti Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Venneman officiating. A time for visiting will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Christ the King Catholic Cemetery.
Helma Jevnisek was born May 13, 1918 in Dusseldorf, Germany to David and Maria (Krupp) Loffler. On July 24, 1940 Helma was united in marriage to Andrey Jevnisek in Yugoslavia. In 1952 they came to Minnesota and settled in St. Paul. Helma worked as a seamstress. After they retired they moved to Grand Rapids and in 1978 they moved to Cambridge. She was proud of her home and her beautiful flower gardens. She gave her gift of hand crocheted afghans to many. Helma was a faithful volunteer at Cambridge Health Care Center and The Shalom Shop for many years. We will always remember her for her quick wit, self-determination and her generosity to others and her German chocolate treats!
Helma Jevnisek died May 13, 2009 at GracePointe Crossing West in Cambridge at the age of 91 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Andrey, granddaughter, Peggy, and by three brothers.
She is survived by her daughter; Brigitte, granddaughter; Tanya, great-grandson; Jacob and by several dear friends.
