Bonnie Lou Meeks, age 78, died November 25, 2008 at her home in Prescott, AZ. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 6th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel. A time for visiting will be held 1 hour prior to theservice at the chapel. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Bonnie Lou (Lindell) Meeks was born February 18, 1930 in Rock Creek, Minnesota to Elove and Rhoda Lindell. Bonnie was the sixth child of twelve brothers and sisters. She was raised in the Isanti area and later attended Nokomis Jr. High School. She and her family attended Oxford Baptist Church. After school Bonnie worked for the Jensen Printing Co. In 1948 Bonnie married Edward Knoll and had two sons, Michael and Joseph Knoll. Bonnie and Edward’s marriage ended after five years. Bonnie and her sons relocated to Torrence, California in 1962. Bonnie later married Sam Meeks in 1974 and lived in Long Beach, California until his retirement. They later retired in Prescott, Arizona. Sam Meeks passed away in January of 2000. Bonnie remained in Prescott where she passed away in her sleep on November 25, 2008 at the age of 78.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Warren and Ellsworth Lindell; sisters, Marion Kjellberg, Shirley Turnvall and Eyvonne Anderson.
Bonnie is survived by her two sons, Michael Knoll of Andover and Joseph Knoll of Prescott, Arizona; brothers, Glenn, Sherlock, Loran and Wayne Lindell of Isanti; sister, Donna Hendrickson of Isanti; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews. Bonnie enjoyed traveling, sewing and she spent many hours compiling the Lindell family genealogy.
