James B. Moore, age 90, of Cambridge died October 23, 2009 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 31st at the GracePointe Gables West Chapel with Chaplain Norm Norland officiating. A time for visiting will be held 1/2 hour prior to the service.
James Burcher Moore was born and raised in Bridgeport, CT to James C. and Mildred Moore. In 1949 he moved his family to Antrim, NH where he lived almost 20 years. Jim worked in industrial engineering at Honeywell, retiring in 1968. He was an avid collector of many things, but he was most interested in rocks and minerals. He displayed many specimens of these in The Mineral Barn and enjoyed giving tours and lectures on minerals to local groups and schoolchildren.
Following retirement he lived in Leesburg, FL at Molaki and later in Mt Dora, FL at Waterman Village. In Florida, he became interested in the work of the Sheriff’s Boys Ranches and was proud to be a Lifetime Honorary Member of the Florida Sheriffs Association. In 2007 he moved to Cambridge, MN, living at GracePointe West (Formerly Grandview Christian Home) until his passing.
James B. Moore passed away October 23, 2009 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West Care Center at the age of 90 years, 7 months and 18 days. He was preceded in death by two wives, Dorothy and Bonnie and one daughter, Pamela Libby.
James is survived by one son, David (Brenda) Moore of North Branch, grandchildren, Brendan, Dean and Donna; Melinda Goodrich; and several great-grandchildren.
