Donald Steinhaus, age 90, of Stacy died March 25, 2010 at the Margaret S. Parmly Residence in Chisago City. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 10th at Glory Baptist Church in Aitkin. Time of service not set yet, call for more information. Burial will be in Cave Creek National Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona.
Donald Herbert Steinhaus was born March 21, 1920 in Elysian, Minnesota to Edwin and Mabel Steinhaus. Herb was raised in the Elysian/Waterville area. In 1942 he married Betty Bertram. Herb served in the Army Air Force from 1942 1945. After the service they made their home in Minnesota where they raised their family. From 1947 1965 they lived in Isanti where he was a member of Elim Baptist Church and played baseball for the Isanti Town Team. He also enjoyed playing the trumpet. Herb was employed by Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. After retirement they moved to Tucson, Arizona. In 2005 Herb moved to Stacy to be closer to family.
Herb is survived by three children, Susan (Paul) Anderson of Stacy; John Steinhaus of St. Cloud, Jeff (Alicia) Steinhaus of California; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
