Katherine Louise Brunner, age 92, of Cambridge died May 17, 2010 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 21st at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel with Father James David Hahn officiating. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service.
Katherine Louise Brunner was born July 5, 1917 in Eau Galle, Wisconsin to Austrian immigrants Joseph and Hannah (Finney) Brunner. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Durand, Wisconsin in 1936 and then attended business college. Katherine lived in Minneapolis for many years and worked in claims administration at Crum and Forester Insurance Company. In her younger years she loved dancing and she danced with Lawrence Welk on his show one time. She was a generous person and volunteered at a senior center in Minneapolis for 20 years. Katherine loved to travel and she enjoyed working on crafts. She was an outgoing lady, strong willed and sweet to everyone. Katherine has lived in Cambridge the last five years.
She is survived by her sister, Helen Brunner of Isanti; nephew, Brad Brunner (Opal Harrell) of Cambridge; four grandchildren, David, Gary, Greg and Danny Strombeck; and by other relatives and friends. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, JoAnn; brother, Tom; sister, Mary; and two infant siblings.
