Robert E. Case, age 84, of Isanti died May 23, 2010 at Abbott Northwestern Hosiptal in Minneapolis. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 27th at Elim Baptist Church in Isanti with Pastor Ryan O’Leary officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 26th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel and also one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Interment will be in Isanti Union Cemetery.
Robert Ellsworth Case was born November 12, 1925 in Martin, South Dakota to Roy and Edna Case. He grew up in South Dakota. Bob served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Massachusetts. After his time in the Navy he returned home and on August 20, 1949 he married Bernice Charbonneau in Luverne, Minnesota. Following various employments, they moved to Nevada where Bob joined the Las Vegas Fire Department for nine years. He then worked as a fireman for seven years at Hughes Aircraft in California and then, until his retirement in 1991, worked as a fireman at the New Brighton Arsenal in Minnesota. Bob loved telling stories, reading, doing crossword puzzles and playing cards.
Bob passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 11 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Francis, Jerry and Jimmy; and by his wife, Bernice.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Lynda (Dale) Buzzell of Isanti; two grandchildren, Robert Buzzell of Isanti and Tracy (Drew) Striebel of Hastings; two brothers, Fred Case of Redfield, South Dakota and Jack (Nancy) Case of Plankinton, South Dakota; one sister, Dorothy Henley of Las Vegas, Nevada; and by other relatives and friends.
