Gordon C. Larson, age 90, of Cambridgedied August 17, 2011 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 22nd at First Baptist Church in Cambridge with Rev. Len Ochowicz officiating. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Cambridge Union Cemetery.
Gordon Clinton Larson was born April 3, 1921 in Cambridge to Gunnard and Magda (Kron) Larson. He was raised in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School. He then attended Shakopee Trade School and became a certified welder. Gordon moved to San Diego, California and worked for Consolidated Aircraft and then in the shipyards building ships. Gordon moved back to Minnesota and the Twin Cities. He worked as a welder for Electric Machinery until his retirement. Gordon was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Cambridge. He enjoyed traveling and he traveled worldwide both with tours and on his own. Gordon always came back to the family farm near Cambridge where he enjoyed helping on the farm. He started to contour farm the hillsides like he saw on his travels.
Gordon Larson of Cambridge died August 17, 2011 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 14 days.
Gordon is survived by his sister-in-law, Doris Larson of California; 5 nieces and nephews, Marian (Russell) Enabnit of Iowa, David (Maggie) Larson of Isanti, Daniel Larson of Minneapolis, Steven (Sharlyn) Larson of California, John (Angela) Larson of Cambridge; and by many other relatives and friends.
