James M. Voigt, age 56, of Isanti died August 19, 2011 at his home. There will be a memorial gathering on September 10th at his home.
James Michael Voigt was born February 16, 1955 in Arlington, Minnesota to Duane and Shirley (Meyer) Voigt. He was raised in the Green Isle/Arlington community and attended school there. Jim enjoyed traveling and traveled most of the country with his brother Greg. On October 22, 1980 he married Sharon Cohen and they made their home in Fridley for 12 years. They then moved to Braham and then to Isanti seven years ago. Jim loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, camping and traveling with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially ice fishing.
James Voigt died August 19, 2011 at his home after a battle with cancer at the age of 56 years, 6 months and 3 days. Jim was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jordan; brother, Greg; grandparents, Evelyn and Alford Voigt and William and Granny Annie Meyer; father-in-law, Melvin Cohen.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Isanti; two daughters, Amanda (Randy) Johnson of Braham, Elisha (Joey) Neukom of Mora; six grandchildren; parents, Shirley and Duane Voigt of East Bethel;1 brother, Tom (Lynn) Voigt of East Bethel; one sister, Val West of East Bethel; mother in-law, Florence Cohen of Isanti; and by many other relatives and friends.
