Wesley C. Engebretson, age 93, of Princeton died December 19, 2011 at the ElimHome in Princeton. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 23rd at the 1st Congregational United Church of Christ in Princeton with Pastor Dan Osborn officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca.
Wesley Charles Engebretson was born May 8, 1918 in Milaca, Minnesota to Roy and Wilma (Onstad) Engebretson. He graduated from Milaca High School in 1936 and then attended the University of Minnesota, St. Paul campus. He farmed and taught agriculture. On December 24, 1941 he married Lucille Knippling and they made their home in Anoka and later settled in Princeton. Wesley later went back to earn a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Minnesota. He worked at the Cambridge State Hospital and also in social services in Anoka County. He also worked in St. Paul for the State of Minnesota as a supervisor in family services for many years. On May 2, 1992 Wesley married Pearl Dronen (Jacobson) and they lived in St. Francis until four years ago when they moved to Princeton. Wesley loved music, cross country skiing, running, reading and gardening.
Wesley Engebretson died December 19, 2011 at the Elim Home in Princeton at the age of 93 years, 7 months and 11 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille; step-son, Clifford; brother, Phillip and sister, Jean.
Wesley is survived by his wife, Pearl; two daughters, Sharon Green of Princeton, Wanda (Richard) Clow of Hallock; two step-daughters, Joyce Fliflet of New Ulm, Mavis Klosner of Sharon, ND; one step-son, Neil Dronen of Thailand; eight grandchildren, Tanya, Paul, John, Sara, Mark, Peter, Christine and Stephanie; nine step-grandchildren, Debbie, Mike, Sue Ann, Darrin, Alison, Marisa, Amy, Vincent and Jacob; 7 great-grandchildren, numerous step-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
