Dennis W. Shaffer, age 65, of Isanti died January 8, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, January 13, 2012 at Isanti Union Cemetery with Rev. Clifton Hanson officiating.
Dennis William Shaffer was born October 16, 1946 in Argos, Indiana to Burdette and Marion (Carlson) Shaffer. He lived in Indiana until the second grade and then the family moved to Princeton. He attended Princeton High School through the 11th grade. He then served in the Navy where he served in Vietnam and also earned his GED. He served in the Navy for 6 years. After the service he married Elaine Jacobson and they made their home in the Cambridge area. They were happily married for over 40 years. His hobbies included fishing, gardening and wood working.
Dennis Shaffer died January 8, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids at the age of 65 years, 2 months and 23 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Tom.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Elaine of Isanti; brothers and sisters, Gary and Norma of Cambridge, Mike of Fridley, Mark of Dalbo, Scott of the Twin Cities, Ricky of Dalbo, Sandy (Tim) Gobel of Stacy; step-sister, Carol Peterson of New Hope; step-brother, Dale Anderson of Minneapolis; sisters-in-law, Sue and Gary Johnson, Don and Linda Bistodeau, Mary and Tim Nelson, Nancy Wiemer and James Jacobson; mother-in-law, Grace Jacobson. Dennis was a wonderful uncle to numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
