Delores E. Styer, age 79, of Buffalo died April 12, 2012 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 19th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel. A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 18th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be in Athens Lutheran Cemetery.
Delores Elrene Styer was born August 2, 1932 in Isanti to Victor and Josephine (Palmquist) Erickson. She was raised in Isanti and graduated from Cambridge High School. On July 14, 1955 she married Willis Hegstrom at the Cambridge Lutheran Church and they made their home in Minneapolis, later in Blaine and then they moved to Brooklyn Center. On April 7, 1990 she married Walter Styer and they made their home in Brooklyn Center. Delores moved to Buffalo in November of 2007. In her younger years she enjoyed playing softball and going fishing. Delores was an avid bowler even in her later years. She especially enjoyed the family gatherings and road traveling to Washington, California, New York and Texas. She also enjoyed gardening, collecting agates, watching the birds, butterflies and wild life. Delores loved nature.
Delores Styer died April 12, 2012 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 10 days. Besides her parents Delores was preceded in death by her husbands, Willis Hegstrom and Walter Styer; 2 brothers, Ralph and Wilbert Erickson; sisters, Edna Collin and Vivian Bates and 2 infant sisters.
She is survived by 1 son, Jeffrey (Darlene) Hegstrom of Buffalo; 2 grandchildren, Timothy Hegstrom of Hibbing, Susan Hegstrom of Buffalo; sister, Jeanette (Kenneth) Miller of Woodville, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Marcy Erickson of Brooklyn Center and Texas; and by many other relatives and friends.
