Lloyd John Wicklund, age 84, of Blaine and formerly of Brooklyn Park and Cambridge, died May 9, 2012 at Texas Terrace Care Center in St. Louis Park. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 15th at Stanchfield Baptist Church with Pastor Dale Cope officiating. A visitation will be held from noon until the service Tuesday at the church. Private interment will be in the church cemetery.
Lloyd John Wicklund was born March 7, 1928 in Braham, Minnesota to Bertel and Minnie (Skoog) Wicklund. He grew up in Stanchfield and then served his country in the US Navy. On January 31, 1948 Lloyd married Margaret Johnson and they raised their family in Brooklyn Center. Lloyd was an auto body worker at Win Stephens Buick, Village Chevrolet, North Star Dodge, Long Cadillac, Freeway Dodge and Burnsville Dodge. He also had his own auto body shop in Grandy with his brother Roger. After retiring he lived in Cambridge and then Blaine before he needed to move into assisted living. Lloyd especially loved antiquing with his two friends Chuck and Richard.
Lloyd Wicklund passed away May 9, 2012 at Texas Terrace Care Center in St. Louis Park at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 2 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his eight siblings, Bert, Vernet, Clifford, Doris, Doward, Roger, Bob and Howard.
He is survived by his former wife, Margaret; four children, Nancy (Robert) Hansen of North Branch, Curtis (Sarah) Wicklund of Jordan, Scott (Teresa) Wicklund of Elk River, Todd (Susan) Wicklund of Brooklyn Park; brother, Virgil Wicklund of Cambridge; 14 grandchildren, Kimberly (Matt) Anderson, Chad (Rachel) Hansen, Troy (Amanda) Hansen, Kyra Wicklund, Kjell Wicklund, Bonnie (Darick) Kvien, Jennifer (John) Keske, Dylan Wicklund, Angela (Mitchell) Elliott, Christine Wicklund, Josiah Wicklund, Jeremiah Wicklund, Sam Wicklund and Seth Wicklund; 18 great-grandchildren, Greg, Justin, Peyton, Isaiah, Ben, Daniel, Bryn, Jeremiah, Rebekah, Shiloh, Jayden, Logan, Shelby, Jackson, Morgan, Charlie, Harlan and Jacob; and by other relatives and friends.
