Arvid Alfred Peterson, age 86, of Isanti died June 6, 2012 at home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 9th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel with Rev. Randy Westerberg officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Friday, June 8th also at our Isanti Chapel. Interment will be in Isanti Union Cemetery.
Arvid Alfred Peterson was born June 3, 1926 at home in Isanti to Victor and Nellie (Bergman) Peterson. He was raised and attended school in Isanti. Arvid served his country in the US Army during WWII. After a year in the service he returned to Isanti and married Clarice Linder on February 21, 1946. Arvid then served in the Army another year. Arvid worked for his father at Peterson Concrete in Isanti. He later took over the business with his brother Lester. Arvid enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting guns. He shot his first bear at age 80. After retirement he also took great enjoyment reloading shells.
Arvid Peterson passed away June 6, 2012 at home at the age of 86 years and 3 days. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Duane and Darrell, and by three siblings, Hannah Hedberg, Ruby Boettcher and Myra Gerken.
Arvid is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Clarice; five children, Darlene (Doug) Ewert of Cambridge, Deanna Hanson of Isanti, Don (Kathy) Peterson of Isanti, Debbie (Dan) Olson of Togo, and Dean (Julie) Peterson of Princeton; four siblings, Gladys Peterson of Coon Rapids, Ralph Peterson of Bloomington, Helen (Lee) Parson of St. Francis, and Lester (Mary Jean) Peterson of Pengilly; 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and by many other relative and friends
