S. Bernice Jacobson, age 94, of Isanti died November 12, 2012 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 15th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel with Ashley Hoseth, Dorothy Kleeb and Rich Raschke officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Isanti Union Cemetery.
Bernice was born September 15, 1918 in Oxford Township, Isanti County, to Ed and Esther (Anderson) Parson. She was raised in Oxford Township and attended District 5 School. On August 1, 1942 she married Curtis Jacobson and they made their first home in St. Paul. They moved to rural Isanti in 1969 where Bernice still lived until just a short time ago when she moved to the nursing home. Bernice especially loved all of the family activities with the family and grandchildren. She loved gardening and was well known for her large ‘Raspberry Patch’. She could pick 100 pints of raspberries in a day. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking. She always had cookies on hand for her guests. In her later years she enjoyed working on puzzle books.
S. Bernice Jacobson died November 12, 2012 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West at the age of 94 years, 2 months and 7 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis; 2 brothers, Virgil and Harold Parson; 2 sisters, Edith Droel and Violet Trana.
Bernice is survived by 2 sons, Bob (Dana) Jacobson of Isanti, James Jacobson of Isanti; 3 grandchildren, Kerri Carlson, Tina Larrabee, Brian Tracey; 8 great-grandchildren, Kate Larrabee, Joshua Carlson, Camryn Carlson, Claire Larrabee, Edward, Nathaniel, Madeline and Megan Tracey; 2 brothers, Lee (Helen) Parson of Isanti, Oliver (Marge) Parson of Fredericksburg, Virginia; brother-in-law, Roy (Betty) Droel of Mounds View; and by many other relatives and friends.
