Earl “Bud” Anderson, age 83, of Cedar died October 12, 2013 at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 16th at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Dan Nordin officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church and also from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 15th AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Earl (Bud) Anderson was born December 29, 1929 to Ernest and Alice on the family farm. Ruth Stone was the midwife. He married LaVerne Beckman on April 29, 1950. Bud farmed all of his life with his father, siblings and his wife and children. In his younger days he enjoyed ice fishing and playing cards. He did a lot of hunting and snowmobiling. Bud loved to lead everyone across country on snowmobiles. He loved going to the cabin with family and friends. His greatest love was his family and farming.
Bud is survived by his wife, LaVerne; six children, Barry, Faye, Corinne, Mark, Brenda and Diona (Dave) Anderson; 11 grandchildren, Mark, Jr., Brian, Amy, Eric, Jennifer, Jessica, Dan, Chris, Alicia, Sarah and Dylan; 14 great-grandchildren, Kailey, Mariah, Zach, Zander, Lucy, Drew, Conner, Carter, Bentley, Nevaeh, Colby, Hunter, Tessa and Aubrey; three sisters, Virginia Stewart of St. Francis, Phyllis Henrikson of Cedar and Ruby Bandy of Kentucky; one brother, Charles (Janice) Anderson of Grand Rapids; and by many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Geneva Roden and Viola Fiddyment.
