Dolores Gelle, age 79, of Wyoming, MN and formerly of Cambridge and Isanti, died May 12, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 17th at Calvary Baptist Church in Cambridge with Rev. David Gerhardt officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church and also from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 16th at Strike Funeral Home – ISANTI Chapel. Interment will be in Isanti Union Cemetery. NOTE: There is construction on Hwy 95 in Cambridge with two detours so you may want to allow more time getting to Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday. Hwy 65 North to Isanti, turn left (west) on County Road 5, to County Road 10 (T in road), turn right to State Hwy 95, turn right (east) to Moon Lake Road, turn left to Jefferson Street, turn left and Calvary Baptist Church is on right. Park in upper – northern parking lot for the church.
Dolores Louise Gelle was born June 20, 1934 in Davenport, Iowa to Carl and Hazel (Brondell) Skiles. In 1940 their family moved to Mound, Minnesota. On May 7, 1955 Dolores was united in marriage to Arlen Gelle at St. John Lutheran Church in Corcoran, Minnesota. In 1976 they moved to a home on Long Lake in Isanti where they lived for many years. They have wintered in Tucson, Arizona as well for 10 of the last 12 years. Dolores loved going to Arizona and enjoying the sunshine, warm weather and many friendships there.
Dolores was an active member at Calvary Baptist Church and often volunteered in the church kitchen whenever needed. She was also an excellent cook. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, listening and dancing to polka music, and spending time with her dog – Minnie Mouse.
Dolores passed away May 12, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 22 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her two younger brothers, Robert and Lester.
Dolores will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Arlen; three children, Rick (Patty) Gelle of Isanti, Minnesota, Candy Gelle (Doug Smith) of Linwood, Minnesota, Michelle (Reagan) Green of Hawk Springs, Wyoming; eight grandchildren, Brandy (Dan), Tawnya, Rick (Megan), Mike (Alyssa), Lillian, Lynn, Rebecca and Carl; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Griffin; and by many other relatives and friends.
