Jeanette Poff, age 83, of Forest Lake, formerly of North Minneapolis, died October 12, 2014 at Birchwood Health Care Center in Forest Lake. The funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, October 16th, at Country Roads Church in rural Stacy with Rev. Gary Bawden officiating. There will be a visitation 1 hour before the service at church on Thursday and also from 5 – 8 P.M. on Wednesday, October 15th, at our Isanti Chapel.
Jeanette Carol Poff was born in Isanti on September 23, 1931 to Oscar and Martha (Collin) Dahlberg. She was raised and lived her early years in Athens Township in rural Isanti. Jeanette married Eugene “Ken” Poff on May 28, 1949. They lived most of their married life in North Minneapolis. Jeanette worked at Unitog Company in South Minneapolis for over 25 years. She was very active in her church, Salem Lutheran Church in North Minneapolis, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and attending a weekly Bible study. Jeanette loved music, ballroom dancing and sewing.
Jeanette passed away on October 12, 2014 at Birchwood Health Care Center in Forest Lake at the age of 83 years and 19 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Martha Dahlberg; daughter, Sharon Orttel; and brother, Ken Dahlberg. Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Pam (Butch) Gunderson of Ham Lake; son-in-law, Dale Orttel of Silver Bay; grandchildren, Terry (Cathryn) Gunderson, Chris Orttel, Nikki (Nate) Struthers, Kari (Chris) Schaffer; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Abigail Struthers; sisters, Lorraine (Floyd) Poff, Ruth (Vern) Poff; and many other relatives and friends.
