Donald L. Sohm, age 97, of Cambridge died January 14, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M. Saturday, January 17th at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel with Jim Donahue officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
Donald Louis Sohm was born November 22, 1917 in Eden Prairie, Minnesota to Louis and Augusta (Krueger). In 1937 he graduated from Eden Prairie Consolidated School. Donald served his country in the US Army during World War II.
The family lived in Mounds View where the five children were raised. Donald later made his home in Cambridge for over twenty years. He enjoyed writing, gardening, watching birds and especially “The Coffee Social” with friends.
Donald passed away January 14, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud at the age of 97 years, 1 month and 23 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford; and two sisters, Lorraine and Dorothy.
He is survived by five children, Virgil, Regi, Reenie, Louie, and Cori; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
