Irene Larson, age 91, of Pine City died April 13, 2015 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West in Cambridge. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, April 15th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cathoic Church in Isanti. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Irene T. Larson Lusk was born July 6, 1923 in Jackson, Minnesota to Charles and Susie (Chonko) Lusk. She graduated from Jackson High School and then from college in Mankato. On June 19, 1944 she married Vern Larson, of Lake Crystal. They farmed in the Mankato area until 1971 when they purchased their home in Finlayson, where they continued farming for 25 years. After retiring they moved to Pine City. The past two years Irene has been cared for at GracePointe. Irene enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and playing cards. She was also very faithful and prayed the Rosary daily.
Irene Larson passed away April 13, 2015 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 7 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vern; son, Mark; brothers, James, Charles and George Lusk; sisters-in-law, Alean and Bonnie Lusk; brothers-in-law, Arnie Larson and James Zyzda; and son-in-law, Keith Carlson.
Irene will be lovingly remembered by children, Mary Carlson of Isanti, Eileen (Butch) Hastings of Milaca, Edie (Terry) Teich of Eagan, Tom Larson (Daniel Olson) of Champlin; sisters, Mary Larson of Bloomington, Gladys Zyzda of Sioux City, Iowa; sister-in-law, Margie Lusk of Jackson; 5 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
