Jane Hill, age 99, of Cambridge died March 13, 2016 at Haven House in Cambridge. Private services were held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Jane (Ethel) Hill was born January 16, 1917 in Cicero, Illinois to Samuel and Tillie (Shapiro) Kubelsky. She moved to Chicago at an early age where she lived until moving to Cambridge in October 1978.
Jane often spoke of Chicago, the city she loved, telling stories of her family and her heritage. Jane enjoyed cooking and trying different recipes. She also loved needlework and sewing, making many outfits and blankets for her grandchildren. Fishing and reading were her favorite leisure activities, along with following her two favorite teams – Dah Bears and The Cubs. Jane volunteered for 10 years at what is currently known as GracePointe Crossing.
Jane died March 13, 2016 at Haven House in Cambridge at the age of 99. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Hill; brothers, Ben, Yale and Alfred; sister, Dorothy; and grandson-in-law, Chip.
Jane is survived by her son, Stephen (Peg) Hill; grandchildren, Kristin, Sara and Joe (Anna) Hill; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Grayson, Hayden, Connor, Griffin, Emma and Taitum; nieces, Suzanne Cahill and Linda (Don) Johnson; nephew, Thomas (Helen) Cahill; and by many other relatives and friends.
