Ella Hyde, age 91, of Cambridge died April 20, 2016 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, JUNE 4th at Salem Lutheran Church in Dalbo with Pastor CJ Valenti officiating. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ella Hyde was born February 1, 1925 in Long Lake, South Dakota to Christian “Christ” and Christine (Sandmier) Heyd. She was raised and attended school in Ismay, Montana. In 1942 Ella married Glenn Hyde. They moved to Valejo, CA. where he was stationed in the military and started their family, and in 1952 they moved to the Cambridge area where they raised their eight children. They later were divorced. In 1992 Ella moved to Punta Gorda, FL and enjoyed her time with friends, doing crafts, church activities, and hosting visiting family. After 12 years, Ella moved back to Cambridge to be close to her family.
Ella worked several jobs including at Cambridge Launderers and Cleaners and Cenex. She enjoyed vacations with the kids, babysitting her grandchildren, sewing and crafts. Ella was active in several churches over the years, most recently at Salem Lutheran Church in Dalbo.
Ella Hyde passed away April 20, 2016 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 19 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by brother, Lorenz, sister-in-laws Viola Heyd, Margaret Heyd, son-in-laws Mark Schottenbauer, Floyd Olson; grandson, Steve Olson.
She is survived by eight children, Faye Olson, Carol Schottenbauer, Glenn Jr. (Susan) Hyde, Gary (Debbie) Hyde, Debbie (Wayne) Schmidt, Lorraine (Chuck) Natzel, Sherri (Steve) Blazevic, and Greg (Kim) Hyde; brothers, Leo, and Marvin (Carol) Heyd; one sister, Lorraine (Clark) Fowler; 25 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren; and by other relatives and friends.
Her vivacious spirit will live on through her family and the memories made with them.
