Alice Stone, age 75, of Cambridge died August 31, 2016 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 3rd at our Isanti location. Visitation will begin 1 hour before the funeral on Saturday. Interment will be in Isanti Union Cemetery.
Alice Eleanor Stone was born August 10, 1941 in Deer Creek, Minnesota to Bruno and Elma (Jaaska) Hoyhtya. She was raised at Deer Creek and graduated from New York Mills High School, Class of 1959. On Jan 17, 1960 she married Duane Stone. They made their first home in Crystal. They lived in the Twin Cities area until moving to the Cambridge – Isanti area in the mid 1960’s. Alice retired from the Cambridge State Hospital where she worked as a nurse’s aide for over 20 years. For the past 5 years she had been a resident of GracePointe Crossing Gables West. She enjoyed playing Bingo in the nursing home with her friends. In earlier years she enjoyed all of the family activities, crossword puzzells, word games, gardening and her flowers, going to garage sales and shopping.
Alice passed away on August 31, 2016 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West at the age of 75 years and 21 days. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Duane. Alice is survived by 3 sons, Craig of Cambridge, Scott (Melanie) of Ramsey, Dean of Wadena; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann (Rudy) Anderson of Blaine; brother, Don Hoyhtya of Ham Lake; and by many other relatives and friends.
