Stephen Day, age 67, of East Bethel died August 12, 2017 at Regency Hospital in Golden Valley. A memorial service will be held at 4 P.M. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Maranatha Assembly of God, 24799 Forest Blvd, Forest Lake. A visitation time will be 1 hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Duluth.
Stephen Harley Day was born August 22, 1949 in Monticello, Illinois to Harley and Charlotte (Ridge) Day. He was raised in Decatur, Illinois. Stephen moved to Minnesota 20 years ago and for the past 17 years he has lived with the Rynning family in East Bethel. He was married to Cynthia Jean Christofferson. Stephen was employed by Rise in Spring Lake Park for several years. Stephen had a strong faith in God and enjoyed gospel music, dancing and playing his keyboard. He also enjoyed community outings, vacations and holidays with family and friends. He could always remember dates and phone numbers after only hearing them once. Stephen wanted to be treated fairly and with respect and would say “I am an adult and don’t want to be treated like I have a disability”.
Stephen took his last breath on August 12, 2017 at Regency Hospital in Golden Valley at the age of 67 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Charlotte and his wife, Cynthia. He is survived by his sister, Scarlett Jean (Robert) Rehbein of Mora; 2 nieces, Doris Burkett of New Brighton, Betty Brewer of Wyoming, MN; nephew, Thomas (Stacy) Brewer of Wyoming, MN; and by many other relatives and friends.
