Blanche M. Johnson, age 87, of Cambridge and formerly of Pine City died December 14, 2017 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West in Cambridge. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 19th at Strike Life Tributes – Cambridge with a time for visiting starting one hour prior to the service.
Blanche Marie Johnson was born January 26, 1930 in Brook Park, Minnesota to Joseph and Elise Harapat. She attended school in Pine City, graduating in 1948. On June 9, 1951 Blanche was united in marriage to Rich Johnson in Brook Park. They made their home in Pine City where Blanche worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell for 27 years. In 1983 they moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas where they remained until moving to Cambridge very recently to be near family. Blanche enjoyed baking, cooking, polka dancing, bowling, golfing, working on puzzles and playing cards with family and friends. She also loved music and enjoyed singing in the choir at United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, greatgrandma and friend who will be dearly missed.
Blanche passed away December 14, 2017 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 18 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bud and Jim, and sisters, Mary and Edna.
Blanche is survived by her husband, Rich; sons, Duane (Debbie) Johnson of Cambridge, and Dan Johnson of Pine City; 5 grandchildren, Robert (Melissa) Johnson, DeAnne (Jeff) Misgen, Richard Johnson, Amy (Tim) Janssen, and Keith Johnson; 7 great-grandchildren, Aidan, Myles, Graham, Quinn, Josephine, Remy and Willa; and by other relatives and friends.
