Stanley P. Cveykus was born September 16, 1939 in Phillips, Wisconsin where he also went to school and graduated. He moved to Northeast Minneapolis in 1957 to attend telegraph school and work for the railroad. Stan decided to go into construction doing terrazzo flooring instead. Stan married Shirley Rice on May 6, 1962 and they resided in NE Minneapolis until 1965 when they moved to Columbia Heights and then to Isanti in 1973 where they lived ever since.
Stan loved to spend time in his office, AKA The Pole Shed. He was an avid fisherman who could fillet a Northern like no other. Stan also enjoyed hunting with his bow and being in the woods. Everyone who knew Stan will always remember him for his favorite pastime of gardening. He was a man with a green thumb with amazing tomatoes! In his spare time he always made sure to spend time with his family; passing along everything from his secret gardening techniques, butchering skills, special seasoning making ability, to keeping a calm and level head when dealing with our children.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Scott Sr. (Lisa) Rice, daughter, Lana (Robert Sr.) Stone, son, Todd (Julie) Cveykus; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sister, Evelyn Jerde and many other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Cveykus and grandson, Jacob Cveykus.
