Dorothy Mae Bylund of East Bethel died October 20, 2018 at home. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 23rd at Strike Life Tributes in Isanti. A visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until the service begins at 6:00 P.M. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Dorothy Mae Bylund was born on March 30, 1930 to Phillip John Lehman and Gladys Tina Fonnest Lehman of Tintah, Minnesota. She lived in Tintah most of her life. She did move later in life to the cities. Her first marriage was to Jack Wilke. She has five children with him; Joyce, Audrey, John Henry, Deborah and Michael. Then she married Robert Allen Bylund on October 27, 1954. They had six children together, Dorothy Kristine, Garrett, Karen, Jamie, Marvin and Melissa.
She loved her job as a LPN, when she worked in nursing homes. Once she got her nursing license she worked in numerous nursing facilities. She was a hard worker and a very loving mother. She raised her children alone after the death of her husband in 1973. She was a great role model. She loved to travel, read, crochet, and go to the casino.
Dorothy is survived by her children; daughter, Audrey (Larry Bollin) of Isanti, son, John Henry Wilke of Cass Lake, daughter, Dorothy Kristine (Charles Lemire) from Florida, daughter, Karen Fritche of Ogilvie, son, Jamie Bylund of Ogilvie, son, Marvin Bylund of East Bethel, daughter, Melissa (Thomas Bauer) of Isanti; she is also survived by 29 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Joanne, Peggy, Mary Jane and Linda.
Dorothy died October 20, 2018 at home at the age of 88 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Gladys Lehman; her 1st husband, Jack Wilke; her 2nd husband, Robert Bylund of 19 years; her sister, Anne Aune; her children, Joyce, Deborah, Michael and Garrett; son-in-law, Michael Porter; sister-in-law; Tish Bylund; and 2 grandchildren, Cammy and Cody.
