Marcella Sloper, age 95, of Blaine died October 5, 2018 at her home in Comfort First Assisted Living in Blaine. A visitation will be held from 2 – 4 P.M. on Monday, October 8th at our Isanti location. Private burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Lake City, Minnesota.

Marcella G. Sloper was born on March 26, 1923 in Lake City, Minnesota to Max and Anna (Vonderborn) Hirte. She was raised in Lake City and graduated from Lincoln High School. Marcella lived in Northeast Minneapolis for several years and has resided in Blaine for the last 25 years.
Marcella died on October 5, 2018 at her home in Comfort Residence Assisted Living in Blaine at the age of 95 years, 6 months and 9 days. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 children, infant son Dennis Sloper and daughter Diane Nesenson, her twin brother Bernard Hirte, and brother Delbert Hirte. She is survived by her 3 grandchildren and their families, Dale Sloper of East Bethel and his children, Elizabeth and Daniel, and his granddaughter Rylee, Kristin (Craigg) Stanley of Isanti and her children, Ryan and Tyler, and Lynn (Matthew) Davis of East Bethel and their children, Gage and Gavin, and also 1 sister, Delores Wilkinson of Wyoming.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Comfort Residence for all of their tender loving care that they provided to Marcella for the last 3 1/2 years.
