Gene E. Weber, age 76, of St. Francis died April 5, 2019 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 1st at the St. Francis American Legion.
Gene “Sonny” Ernest Weber was born August 19, 1942 and died April 5, 2019.
Sonny was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. He enjoyed rebuilding his 1934 Ford Pick-up truck with his brother William (Bill) Pitz (deceased). The two of them would spend hours over the weekends working on his truck. After years of hard work and dedication the truck turned out extraordinary. Sonny entered his truck into every car show possible. Again their hard work showed with all the 1st place trophies he was awarded over the years.
At the end of 2015, Sonny moved from Buffalo, NY to Saint Francis, MN to live with his daughter, Cathy. He lived in the downstairs apartment. He enjoyed playing and raising his daughters 5 dogs along with their boxer Dutch. In addition, he WOULD NOT allow his daughter to cut the grass because he said “it gave him a reason to get up every morning”. Cathy said “Sonny took great pride in everything he did no matter if it was taking the trash out to the end of the driveway or cutting the lawn.
He is survived by his ex-wife Elaine Weber, his children Marc John Weber, Catherine Marie Weber-Lauseng, and Michael Joseph Weber. His grandchildren, Taylor Weber, Kayla Weber, Ashlyn Weber, Riley Weber, Dylan Weber, and Kaeli Weber.
Sonny passed away in his sleep April 2, 2019 at home at the age of 76, 4 months, 2 weeks and 3 days, found by his daughter. He was preceded in death by his brother Ernie Weber.
