Jack Winger, age 89 of St. Cloud, died July 8, 2019 at Mille Lacs Health System in Onamia. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, July 13th at Strike Life Tributes in Isanti with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.
Jack Michael Winger was born October 27, 1929 in St. Paul to Alan and Freida (Voller) Winger. He was raised in St. Paul East side and attended St. Paul schools. Jack served in the Army from 1951 – 1953. In August of 1953 he married Phyllis Lorentz in Wadena. Jack was employed as a truck driver for many years. He was a volunteer driver for the disabled for ten years. He was a member of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed fishing, camping, going to auctions, watching boxing, hobby farming, fixing tractors and especially all of the family activities. He was preceded in death by 2 infant sons, Jeffrey Alan in 1956, Thomas James in 1962 and by his wife, Phyllis in 1990. Jack met Ellen at a dance and they spent 27 years together. He had 2 special life- long friends since childhood, Marcel Zoch and Dick Trudeau.
Jack died July 8, 2019 at Mille Lacs Health Care System in Onamia. He is survived by his life partner, Ellen Rollins of St. Cloud; 6 sons, Randy (Yvonne) of Elk River, Scott (Gayle) of Mora, Mark (Debbie) of Montrose, Jay (Lynn) of Isanti, Troy of Hinckley, Joe of Braham; 2 daughters, Jolyn Winger (John Ulrick) of Pine City, Jaque (Mark) Severin of Hinckley; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter and by many other relatives and friends.
