Leannah C. Mir, age 97,of Cambridge died November 27, 2019 at GracePointe Crossing The Gables. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 6th at Strike Life Tributes in Cambridge with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Roslyn, Pennsylvania.
Leannah “Lee” Catherine Mir was born July 30, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to John and Minnie (Rice) McGonigle. She was raised in Philadelphia and graduated from Girls High School. Lee then attended the Philadelphia College of Art for her undergraduate degree and then earned her Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from Temple University. Lee was a gifted artist and some of her paintings were shown in Philadelphia venues. She worked with blueprints and illustrations for the US Navy. She made her home in the same house in Philadelphia area for 50 years before moving to Indiana in 2011 and then to Cambridge, Minnesota in 2012 to be near her son and church. Lee especially enjoyed going to the Minneapolis Institute of the Arts (MiA).
Leannah “Lee” Mir passed away peacefully November 27, 2019 at GracePointe Crossing The Gables at the age of 97 years 3 months and 28 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lloyd, Sophie and Mearl. She is survived by her son, Wes (Jeanette) Mir; sister, Ysabel Zettle; nieces, Sharon Zettle and Susan Walters; and by other relatives and friends.
