Gertrude A. Ausmus, age 96, of Rush City and formerly of the Isanti area, passed away August 9, 2022 at Parmly on the Lake. A visitation will be held from 2 – 4 PM Sunday, August 14th at Strike Life Tributes in Isanti. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 P.M. Monday, August 15th at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly Area 4.
Gertrude Anna Ausmus was born June 30, 1926 in Beroun, Minnesota to John and Anna (Chalupnik) Pulkrabek. She grew up in Beroun and graduated from Pine City High School. She married Benjamin Ausmus on May 10, 1947. They lived in Beroun for a short time before moving to Duluth where they remained until 1968. They then made their home on a farm in Athens Township in Isanti County. She has lived in Rush City for the last few years with her son, Brian. Besides being busy raising six children she worked in various manufacturing businesses. She was a hard worker and also kept busy at home sewing, embroidering and doing cross-stitch, making many gifts for her children and grandchildren. Gertrude had a garden and also enjoyed flowers, fishing and camping.
Gertrude passed away August 9, 2022 at Parmly on the Lake in Chisago City at the age of 96 years, 1 month and 10 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin; son, Randy; daughter-in-law, Melody; and three siblings, Angeline, Anna Marie and Ralph.
She will be lovingly remembered by five children, Diane Anderson, Gaile (David) Boudreau, Yvonne (Al) Moen, Brian Ausmus, and Karen (Vern) Morris; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and by other relatives and friends.
