Nicholas “Nick” Heffner, age 84, of Isanti died peacefully at home November 14, 2022. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, November 22nd at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Isanti. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Nicholas Donald Heffner was born January 21, 1938 in Minneapolis, MN to Eugene and Barbara (Kary) Heffner. He was raised and attended school in Minneapolis and Fridley. Nick served his country in the National Guard. On January 26, 1957 he married Gwen Martie and they lived in several places including Columbia Heights and Fridley. Nick worked as a mechanic and truck driver. He loved working on old cars and trucks with his son. He also enjoyed waterskiing and spending time at their cabin near Hibbing. Nick and Gwen wintered several years in Alabama where Nick was able to restore vintage military aircraft. He also restored a 1942 WWII Jeep and it looks good as new. He was a talented man, a hard worker and he valued family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Nick died peacefully at home November 14, 2022 at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 24 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Montague; brothers, Eugene and Richard Heffner; sister-in-law, Shirley Heffner, and brother-in-law, Jerry Gifford.
Nick is survived by his wife, Gwen; children, Chris (Nancy) Heffner, Wendy (Chuck) Wilson, and John (Michele) Heffner; siblings, James Heffner, and Mary Gifford; sister-in-law, Ruthie Heffner; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and by other relatives and friends.
