Brenda was born on July 28, 1965 to Eugene “Mac” and Jean (Edberg) McGinnis in Brooklyn Center. The family moved to the Isanti area when she was 3 years old and she lived in the area her entire life. She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Weber, in 1982. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1985. She briefly worked for Industries, Inc. and the Burger King in North Branch.
Brenda married Kim Nelson in May of 1988. They had two sons, Allen and Andrew. They later divorced. In the year 2000 she reconnected with Pat Siedlecki whom she knew as a teenager. Brenda and Pat shared a life together until her death. Brenda enjoyed seeing her grandchildren when they were able to visit. She also enjoyed playing games on her Kindle-Fire (like Candy Crush, etc.) and watching the Hallmark Channel.
Brenda spent the last 25 years with a heart condition requiring multiple surgeries. She also had other health issues that contributed to her declining health over the years. Over the years she would overcome a health issue only to encounter a new one and this last one was too much for her overcome. We love and will miss you Brenda.
Brenda is survived by Patrick Siedlecki (significant other); sons Allen (Isabel) Nelson and Andrew Nelson; grandchildren, Aracely, Norabel, Mora, Jackson and Noah; sisters, Cathy (Jim) Nelson and Carol (Tom) Pankan; Uncle Paul (Bette) Edberg; nieces and nephews, Melissa, Matthew, Bonnie, Heidi, Michelle and Jeffrey; 14 great-nieces and nephews; three great-great nieces and nephews; many cousins and other relatives and friends.
