Lise C. True, age 70, of East Bethel died March 15, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 22nd at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in East Bethel. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in Fridsborg Cemetery.
Lise Christine True was born May 19, 1952 in Pipestone, Minnesota to Elden and Harriett (Iverson) Groth. She graduated from Pipestone High School and continued her education at the University of Minnesota and Anoka Landscape Votec. On June 5, 1978 she married Richard “Ric” True. Lise worked as a Catering Director at the Radisson University Hotel for several years and then moved into her career of Medical Conference Planning for the Department of Continuing Medical Education at the University of Minnesota. Prior to her days of catering and conference planning, she was a florist. She retired in 2010 to focus on taking care of her granddaughters and being her family. Lise and Ric have made their home in East Bethel, fondly referred to as “East Bethlehem” as a friend of Lise’s once called it, as it seemed so far off the grid.
The family began attending Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church after moving to East Bethel in 1980. She enjoyed gardening and keeping Ric on planet Earth while planning landscape and household projects. Ric was always the visionary and Lise always knew how to bring things to fruition. She also took great care of those she loved. She knew where everyone was and always took it upon herself to make sure everyone stayed on track. She was a lover of everything green and loved all animals, especially her cat Lily, and all of the beloved furry family members that came before her. Lise was an incredible support, rock and sounding board for her husband, daughter, granddaughters and so many loved ones.
Lise passed away March 15, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 24 days. Although, it’s believed she truly passed one day earlier as it seemed her suffering was over and she was resting peacefully until her last day. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and a very special soul connection, her grandmother Lillian Iverson, “Lil” whom she believed to be her true kindred spirit and confidant.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ric; daughter, Kristin and her fiancé, Wayne Schneider; granddaughters, Emilia and Olivia; brother, Lance Groth; and by many other relatives and friends.
