Burneita J. Anderson, age 94 of Cambridge, died April 13, 2024 at home surrounded by loved ones. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 20th at Cross Pointe Church in Cambridge. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Friday, April 19th at Strike Life Tributes in Cambridge and also 1 hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Interment will be in Isanti Union Cemetery. Memorials suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Burneita “Beets” Anderson was born on 12/06/1929 in Madison, MN. Beets was preceded in death by her loving husband, Stanley L. Anderson; her parents, Thuel L. Mason and Agnes M. Mason; sisters, Arla Sorenson, Marlys Beckers, Lorraine Sorenson, Audrey Reuss; and brother Lee Mason.
Beets is survived by her daughter, Linda Lehr (Jeff); son, Jeff Sorenson (Jennifer); daughter, Tari Zortman (Rock); sons, Michael Roberts (Jeanette), Mark and Curt Roberts; daughter, Kristi Thompson (Barry); and grandchildren, Whitney Dissing (Jason), Taylor Braatz (Derick), Clayton Sorenson (Amanda), Mason Sorenson (Melissa), Grace Zortman, Colton Smith (Chelsea), Marina Roberts (Fiancee), Christopher and Kira Sadler, Aaron and Devin Porterfield.
Beets is also survived by her loving sisters, Janet Weir (Thomas) and Shirley Hermeling (Bill); along with many nieces and nephews. Beets is also survived by 18 great grandchildren. Beets is also survived by her best dog, Benson.
Beets retired from the State of CA in 1986, when she moved from California back to Minnesota. She started her career with the State of California in the office of Senator Tom Reese. She spent the next two years working for Governor Ronald Reagan, which was the highlight of her career. The next 16 years she spent as an Executive Assistant to the Chancellor of the CA State Colleges.
Beets lived a long fulfilled life with her loving family and her faithful loving devotion to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May you Rest in Peace ye Mighty Faithful Servant.
