Della Mae Pearson, age 95, of Isanti passed away May 30, 2024 at home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 12th at South Isanti Baptist Church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be in Stanchfield Baptist Cemetery.
Della was born June 24, 1928, the 9th child of 11 children born to Elmer and Ellen Johnson. She grew up on a farm two miles east of Grandy, and attended Stake Country School and Stanchfield Baptist Church. After her school years she moved to Minneapolis for work.
Della met her husband Gerald Pearson at The Glory Barn Church in Grandy. They dated for 1 year and married in 1948 at the Cambridge Gospel Tabernacle. Together they raised two daughters, Sandra and Cindy. In 1960 they moved to a farm near Weber where they lived the rest of their lives.
Della excelled at cooking, baking, canning vegetables from Gerald’s large gardens, and hosting many family gatherings. She worked at Weber Store when her children were young, then at Cambridge Health Care Center until retirement. She was a kind and generous woman who was loved by everyone who knew her.
Della loved spending time with her large family, her two children, three grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and her friends at South Isanti Baptist Church.
Della was predeceased by her husband, Gerald and all ten of her siblings, Gladys, Ted, Irene, Floyd, LaVerne, Jeanette, LeRoy, Joyce, Roger and Ruth. She put her trust in Jesus and is now re-united with her loved ones in Heaven.
Della is survived by her daughters, Sandra of Isanti, and Cindy (Dave) Gunderson of Mora; grandchildren, Dan Gunderson of Palmer, AK, Aaron (Lauren) Gunderson of Mora, Soo (JJ) Peterson of St. Louis Park; and 10 great-grandchildren; also survived by brother-in-law, Donald Pearson; sisters-in-law, Maxine Smith and Lorna Johnson; and many other relatives and friends.
