
Jule F. Schroeder, age 82, of Hutchinson passed away December 16, 2024 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 23rd at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials preferred to McLeod Emergency Food Shelf.
Jule Frank Schroeder was born on July 12, 1942, in Kenmare, North Dakota. He was the son of Louis and Ruth (Heller) Schroeder. Jule was baptized as an infant at his parent’s farm home In Tolley, North Dakota, and later confirmed in his faith in 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tolley. He grew up and attended school in both Tolley, ND and Hutchinson, MN. Jule graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1960, and attended two years at the University of Minnesota. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in the TAR Program in October of 1965, specializing in aviation electronics.
On October 9, 1965, Jule was united in marriage to Sharon Lepel at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. This marriage of 59 years was blessed with two sons, Chris and John. The Navy took Jule and his family across the country, from Millington, TN, to Willow Grove, PA, to Alameda, CA, and to Pearl River, LA. Upon his retirement from the Navy in June of 1985 as a Master Chief, Jule and his family returned to Hutchinson. Since January of 1986, Jule was employed by Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing as an electrician. He retired from 3M in 2002. Jule was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, and also the American Legion Post 96. He enjoyed reading, traveling, camping and fishing, cooking, fixing things, restoring old vehicles and attending car shows.
Jule is survived by his wife, Sharon; sons, Chris Schroeder, and his wife, Lisa and John Schroeder and his wife, Cindy; granddaughters, Juelle Schroeder and Analise (Ben) Gaffaney; great-grandson, Jaiden Smalls-Schroeder; brothers, John Schroeder and his wife, Stephanie; Jerry Schroeder and his wife, Linda; sister-in-law, Annette Schroeder; brother-in-law, Gerald “Bert” Zeltinger; sister-in-law, Karen Gruett and her husband, Gene; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jule is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ruth; brother, Jim Schroeder, sister, Jeanie Zeltinger, and parents-in-law, HH and Helen Lepel.
