
Mike Torgeson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 22nd at the age of 84, holding the hand of his wife of 63 years. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Mike’s life will be held on Friday, December 27th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 207 Whiskey Road NW, Isanti, Minnesota. The funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Christ the King Catholic Cemetery.

Mike was born on December 1, 1940, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Oscar and Marie Torgeson. Mike lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service. After graduating, Mike proudly served his country as a Marine. Upon completing his service, he returned to Minnesota, where he built a life centered around family. Mike was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a true coach in every sense—always guiding, supporting, and cheering for his loved ones with unwavering love and encouragement. His humility, tireless work ethic, and steadfast devotion left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mike faced life’s challenges with resilience, humor, and a twinkle in his eye, endearing him to all. His legacy of love, strength, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his children, Michelle (Russ) Moen, Steve (Jordana) Torgeson, Dan (Donna) Torgeson, Kristen (Angelo) Giovanis, and Greg Torgeson; 18 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Myrna and Mandy, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Marie; his brothers, Ernie, Bob, John, Ted, Mert, and Dan; his sisters, Betty and Mary; and his daughter-in-law, Rita.
Mike’s warmth, humor, and enduring love will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain a guiding light for all who knew him.
